Hey Ronnien . I did the the BWR A few years ago ) fantastic !! Great bunch !! I still or organise collections a couple times a year and we all wear the pink bras , tutus etc ! Have a fantastic time ! Hope the weather stays good and say hi to everyone for me x

The Huggie Memorial ride will be taking place this year on the Monday 27th August. For those new to the site wanting to know what this is all about look in the National rideout section for previous threads, and full details about the ride can be found there, but basically, this ride is a tribute rideout to 'Huggie Monster' (mine and Short Vehicle's brother, and Short Vehicle seniors son) who sadly died 5 years ago from Cancer, and the Southport ride was the last rideout he did with the club, so as a tribute, we do the ride every year in his memory.

Basically same plans as last year, which are that the ride will start in Oldham, meeting at the small car park next to the little lak on Salmon Fields, which is just off the A663 Broadway, just after the junction with Rochdale road, if you put these GPS co-ordinates into Google Maps it will show you where it is, (satellite view shows the car park), 53.560224, -2.114675

We'll be setting off at around 09.30, heading onto Rivvy Barn for the next pick-up, leaving Rivvy at around 12.00, after a bacon butty, heading onto Southport for a chippy dinner.

Anyone and everyone is welcome on this ride, and the route will not contain any motorways sections so anyone on L's will be ok.

This is also going to be posted on the facebook page for the club, for those who are not checking in on here anymore...

So for those who are up for it again, let me know so I can add you to the list, and those who's bikes maybe need a dust off etc, (you know who I mean...) then you've got a bit of advanced warning to get them sorted...

I am the proud owner of a Suzuki EN125, not the fastest machine on the planet, but it keeps on plugging (although at very high revs to road speed...... must change the sprockets to see if this helps) and has never missed a beat.

However, just recently she started losing battery charge when switched off, ran like a good 'un when you bump started.

My first impulse was that it was the battery, so changed this for a new/known good one...... nope, still the same.

Checked the voltages/amperages with engine running, all ok..... mmmmm

Checked all the wiring loom for shorts, did the same with coils, regulator, rectifier.....waste of time, all fine.

Only thing left was the ignition switch, so cursing and swearing took the front end top yoke off (not as easy as it sounds on this model, gave the ingnition switch a good seeing to with copious WD40, left it switched off for 2 days, tried again....... SUCCESS!!!!! Started first stab of the starter button.

Reckon it was electrically conductive gunge inside the contact area producing just enough of a short to drain the battery without drawing enough current to light pilot bulbs etc on the instrument panel.

Just a litlle tip to save a lot of time in case you get the same.
